How do I calculate X% of Y?+
Multiply: (X ÷ 100) × Y. For example, 15% of 200 = (15 ÷ 100) × 200 = 30.
How do I find what percent X is of Y?+
Divide X by Y and multiply by 100. For example, 30 is what percent of 200? (30 ÷ 200) × 100 = 15%.
How is percentage change calculated?+
((New − Old) ÷ Old) × 100. A change from 200 to 250 is ((250 − 200) ÷ 200) × 100 = 25% increase. From 200 to 150 is −25%.
What's the difference between percentage points and percent?+
Percentage points measure absolute differences between percentages (5% to 7% is +2 percentage points). Percent measures relative change (5% to 7% is +40% increase). Both are correct, but they answer different questions.
